Welcome to your local Thanet sharpening service. GT Sharpening was created to solve a simple problem: good knives, scissors and tools shouldn’t be thrown away just because they’ve gone blunt. Using professional, industry-grade equipment, I bring tired blades back to life for home cooks, chefs, restaurants, butchers, barbers, dog groomers and gardeners alike. ABOUT
I’ve spent my working life in public service and practical, hands-on roles, and now I focus on making things sharp instead of throwing them away. I was trained at The Sharpening Training School UK, qualifying in the use of professional systems including Wolff Industries scissor sharpening systems, The Edge Pro clipper system, Sorby Pro Edge and the DT Grinder, to name a few.
Using proper equipment and the correct techniques, I sharpen knives, scissors, tools and blades the way they’re meant to be done, accurately and consistently. Sharpening is cheaper than replacing, better for the planet and far safer than struggling on with blunt edges. From kitchen knives and garden tools to grooming scissors, barber equipment and clipper blades, I bring tired edges back to life with skill, decent kit and zero nonsense.
